Northern Light | Limited Edition Print
The Aurora Borealis dances on a clear night over the Apex Monument. Tarr Inlet hides in the distant shadows under snow and ice while the moon, aurora and the hamlet of Apex illuminate the archway. The Aurora Borealis divides the gradient of light from the stars to the moon.
The monument is located at the Iqaluit municipal cemetery and celebrates the community, its ancestors and connection to the land. The archway is made from the jaw bones of a bowhead whale. Bowheads are located almost exclusively in arctic and subarctic oceans at latitudes between 60 and 75 degrees north. These whales can grow up to 62 feet long and weigh up to 100 tons.
There are a total of 75 editions available for this print, inclusive of all size variations.

This print is part of a series dedicated to raising money for causes in the territory of Nunavut. I will be donating 100% of all profit generated by sales of this print to the Arctic Children and Youth Foundation. Information about the foundation can be found at their website. https://acyf.ca/
Why?
I have worked in healthcare in the territory of Nunavut for the last several years. I’ve seen the impact that even small contributions and gestures can have on a person’s well-being. With this in mind, I will contribute this financial assistance to the territory through my photography business. For updates on these contributions from print sales, please sign up for my newsletter.
